Art Practice

Alongside my work as an instructional designer, I’m also a multidisciplinary artist with a lifelong passion for creative practice. My creative practice is primarily centred around ceramics, while also drawing on my background in photography, videography and visual communication.

As both a ceramicist and an educator, I enjoy sharing my knowledge through workshops and classes. Teaching ceramics has reinforced my belief that learning is most effective when it is hands-on, accessible, engaging and fun. This approach also informs my work as an instructional designer, where I combine creativity, visual communication and learning principles to create meaningful learning experiences.

My ceramic practice explores the relationship between material, form and process. I enjoy experimenting with different handbuilding and surface decoration techniques, including pinching, coiling, slab building, sgraffito and Nerikomi. I am particularly interested in the tactile and experimental nature of working with clay, allowing the material and making process to influence the final outcome.

Through my practice, I continue to develop both my technical skills and my creative voice while exploring new techniques, materials and ways of communicating ideas through visual and physical forms.
